The new HMO scheme has now been live a month, have you submitted your application?
6th April 2018
The new citywide licencing scheme went live on the 1st March and they have now started to conduct inspections to grant new licences. After a period, the council will be issuing letters prompting landlords to submit their applications. Once this happens, the cost of your licence will have a penalty awarded to it and you will have to pay a further £140 on top of your renewal fee.
Here at Coapt we are offering an HMO application service, both for our clients and any landlords who have HMO properties in the Brighton and Hove area. To ensure you are fully compliant, Coapt can handle your application on your behalf for a fee of £225 + VAT. This will include completing and processing the application form, attending council visits, advising on remedial work and ensuring receipt of full license documents.
As part of the new scheme, Brighton and Hove council have also introduced new measures that means you have to prove that you have had two inspections in report form each year and they must be available on request. Coapt will conduct these inspections for you along with a fully comprehensive report for £100 + VAT.
If you would like more information on these services, please do not hesitate to give the office a call and speak to a member of our team.
