Affordable Homes Change Plans For Hove Development
10th August 2022
Hyde Housing have submitted a planning application to Brighton & Hove City Council to double the number of one-bed flats from seven to fourteen. The housing association also hopes to include a three-bedroom low-rent home as part of the scheme.
They also still intend to let ten two-bed properties for a ‘social’ rent, where rent is discounted heavily from the market rate than a rent classified as ‘affordable’.
The Planning Committee will be urged by council officials to back the proposal in the meeting on Wednesday 10th August.
The project as a whole includes 104 homes in the forms of flats and houses, and is set on the site of the old Westows soft play centre and Cliffords car park.
Four years on from when planning permission was granted, building work is near completion.
All homes in the scheme are to be classed as ‘affordable’, and 16 homes are up for shared ownership.
