Leaving for the holidays?
7th December 2021

Going home for the holidays is usually super exciting and a much-needed break from uni stress! However, to avoid any unwanted stress with your university house during this period of time we have got some tips for you to keep everything ticking over while you’re away.
- Make sure all your windows and doors are locked, this includes everyone’s rooms and back/side doors!
- Set your thermostat on a timer at a low temperature to avoid pipes freezing.
- Wrap any outside taps with an old rag to avoid them splitting.
- Make sure any valuables are put away and are out of sight, ideally take anything like laptops back home with you.
- Take any food that will go off out of your fridge and cupboards. Nothing worse than coming back to a smelly house.
- Let us know if you are going to be gone from your property for an extended period of time.
- Don’t forget your keys, this may sound silly but you don’t want a panic to get back into your house after the holidays!
