Time to start thinking about next year…

We know you probably feel like you’ve only just got yourself settled into your new houses, but it is already time to think about the next year. Student properties are advertised from November, so if you’re looking to stay in the same property for another academic year, you need to let us know.

‘Wait. I thought we were on a monthly rolling periodic contract?’
You are, however, because your property is a student home, your tenancy will end next summer in order to rent it again for the next academic year.  Here’s the legal bit; In your contracts your landlord has stated they intend to rely on Section 8, Ground 4A, this is the ‘Student’ ground to serve you notice to end your tenancy from 1st June onward, and the landlord to regain possession of the property to re-rent it for the next academic year.

We’ll do our best to make this happen, but in some circumstances it might not be possible – don’t panic, we’re on hand to help you find another home instead.

You’ll save on moving costs and won’t have to sort out utilities again, not to mention there’s no need to worry about packing things up and unpacking in short succession!

If you’re leaving next summer (or if we haven’t heard from you by 1st November), we will pop your house back on our listings, meaning you can expect viewings at your property. We’ll try to keep disruption to a minimum and cluster viewings when appropriate, we’ll always give you 24 hours notice by email prior to any viewings at your home.
