How To Rent Booklet – update

The government have updated the How To Rent Booklet for the second time in the space of a month.
The current version can be found here

Landlords and letting agents need to ensure that all tenants are provided with a copy of the How To Rent Booklet before entering in to a tenancy. This is part of the ‘prescribed information’ that must be provided to tenants before a valid section 21 notice can be served to obtain possession of the property. If you are unable to provide evidence the tenants have be provided the booklet the section 21 notice will not be valid and it will delay a landlord from obtaining possession of a property.

If you have any questions about prescribed information and how to serve a section 21 notice please do not hesitate to contact us.
