Meet Alex!

Meet Alex, Alex is the newest addition to our Maintenance team, he’ll be ensuring any maintenance issues get resolved quickly. He might be popping round to meet you and check out the issue if you report any problems so we thought you might like to get to know him a little better!

Alex Seddon, 25
Originally from Watford, Alex studied Law and Philosophy at University of Hull. After university he worked for Domestic and General, he then partnered with a Physio and Advanced Nutritionist to create his own company. Alex has a fantastic range of skills to bring to Coapt, we were particularly impressed with his organisational skills, his ability to solve problems and think on his feet. He moved to Brighton last year after doing a little travelling and visiting Singapore.

What drew you to Brighton?
“I was fed up of living in London. Everyone is grumpy, no one speaks to each other; Brighton is made up of a friendly, diverse community. There’s so much going on, I’m especially looking forward to summers by the sea!”

What’s your favourite place in Brighton so far?
“The Royal Pavilion, there isn’t anything else like it in the country. I also really enjoy exploring all the quirky places in the Laines.”

What are you most excited about in your new role?
“I am a proactive person so I’m really looking forward to helping people. I thrive off of good feedback so I am keen to provide the best services possible to tenants and make sure they are happy.”

How was your first day at Coapt?
“Great! I met some really nice tenants. A door lock had broken which resulted in a tenant getting stuck in her living room, which was a little unusual. We went to help, along with John from Structure Tec and got her out! She was really cool about it and gave us some lovely feedback about the rebrand to Coapt. There’s a lot to get to grips with but it looks like every day will be different, it’s a challenge to get my teeth into and I think my new role is going to be everything I hoped for.”

You were a university student a few years ago, what’s your top tip?
“Don’t leave it all to the last minute – trust me, I’ve been there and learnt from it. It’s much better to start early and keep on top of it.”

Tell us a useless fact about yourself!
“I’m terrified of open water, despite being scuba diving 4 times and I’m petrified of sharks!”
